It may have taken longer than expected but Grand Forks city council has landed on a water rate structure and water rate mock billing process.
After much debate, it appeared the three options presented to council would be referred back to staff, delaying the decision.
But councillor Christine Thompson was determined to settle the debate.
Council decided on a fixed charge with a 12-month mock billing period.
The fixed charge means paying for what you use: a price for each unit of water that increases after the first payment depending on use.
