Some locals are volunteering their time to cleaning up garbage and unoccupied transient camps around Grand Forks. They’ve set out a couple times this year so far, collecting about 2200 lbs of garbage in just two days.
Volunteer CloAnne Morasse says they’re also heading out before the Easter Egg Hunt.
They’re also receiving help from the City!
Morasse adds RCMP checks in on the group occasionally. They’re open to having more volunteers, and the crew’s locations are posted on community Facebook pages.
