The downtown recycling bins in Midway and Greenwood are being removed by the Regional District of Kootenay Boundary.
As of May 1st you’ll have to drop your recyclables off at the new locations: The West Boundary Landfill in Greenwood, and the Solid Waste Transfer Station in Rock Creek. Solid Waste Program Coordinator Tim Dueck says the bins have too much garbage.
He also says the bins date back to before Recycle BC took over the system in 2014.
Two open houses are being held to talk about the changes. One is at Greenwood’s McArthur Centre April 9th from 4PM to 7PM. The other is at Midway’s Community Hall April 21st from 5PM to 8PM.
