GF must apologize: activist

A community activist in Grand Forks is calling for the city and its council to publicly apologize to one of its own and the community.

Donald Pharand arranged protests and a petition in support of Councillor Julia Butler.

She was accused of conflict of interest but this week the Supreme Court dismissed the city’s attempt to have her kicked off council and to pay her legal costs.

Pharand claims it’s a trust issue between City Hall, council and the community.

He says the citizens deserve an apology for the big legal bill they’re going to be facing.
